Slava Ukraina

On March 29th, 2023, my niece Natalia and her daughter, Aliss arrived from war-torn Ukraine into freedom and peace of America. Dreams do come true.

On our way to O’hare along 90, we noticed that there was an American and Ukrainian flag flying half mast. That was a huge postcards that was being sent.

At the beginning of the invasion, Natalia, Larry, and Aliss spent months underground going in and out of different bunkers in order to stay alive. When they finally felt that it was safe for them to resurface, they went back into their apartment having their lives changed forever. Daily are the sirens alerting of bombs exploding or missiles going off. Fighter jets are flying overhead daily, yet life goes on for all of the Ukrainians.

While the world hears with the wars or watch it on television, my family are experiencing it daily. I'm blessed to at least have the natalia and aliss here safe in America, along with their one little small bag of personal treasures.

And Mark, I want to thank you for the bottom of my heart for documenting this one precious moment of a lifetime and capturing it forever for us. Thank you.
